EMMAJANE
For her first EP, You can always look Back, EmmaJane was inspired by a tweet that Cher shared where she urged everyone to go search for their inner child. EmmaJane strives to bring candid human experience to life in her work and is consistently inspired by Alanis Morissette, Coldplay, Taylor Swift, and Stevie Nicks. She is currently working on her new project, ‘The “too sensitive” Collection,’ with her producer, Adam Stanton; she is also co-creating a short film inspired by the songs in the project.
Emma Jane Leard grew up in Vancouver BC and started taking drum lessons at the age of 12. That same year, she found herself profoundly affected by Eminem’s Mockingbird. She was shy, never followed the crowd, and had a difficult time expressing herself. Emma only started songwriting in her late teens, but found that acting classes helped build her self-confidence. She was drawn to acting due to the impact that films had on her, especially when they centered around music.
